Postpartum Care
On the other side of birth, a new mother or birthing person is just as vulnerable and raw as the child who is getting to know life outside the womb for the first time. This transitional period can be both exhilarating and blessed, while also feeling monotonous and exhausting. A thoughtful way to honor this time with your new family is by giving yourself the gift of time to truly recover, rest, replenish your reserves and get to know your new little being. Every bit of help you accept will free you up to create a strong foundation to be the parent(s) and family that you want to be.
My work centers around nourishing the whole family - physically and emotionally. Whether it’s through nutrient-rich meals catered to mom’s recovering body, easing the family’s sacred integration period or being a go-to companion for partners and siblings, I am here to bring you all a sense of peace and reprieve amidst the chaos.
My services begin just before or immediately following the birth of your baby and will see you through at least the first 6 weeks of their life.
all of my services include:
Nourishment: At each visit, I will prepare, cook, and serve 1-2 warm, nourishing meals that are tailored towards restoring a mother’s recovering body and can be enjoyed by the whole family, if desired. Warm soups, curries, homemade broth, seasonal vegetables, healthy fats and high-protein snacks are always in regular rotation.
Postpartum Recovery: After birth, your body is going to need some time to physically recover. I will be with you every step of the way, answering questions about what is “normal” and helping you tend to your aches and wounds by offering pain management techniques.
Newborn Feeding Support: No matter how you are feeding your baby, I will ensure you are confident and your baby is thriving by checking your latch, helping you find a pumping routine, giving the baby a bottle or helping you find comfortable feeding positions.
Newborn Care Education: I am here to walk you through questions you may have regarding infant sleep patterns, digestion, soothing techniques, infant physiology and development, bathing, diapering and reading baby’s cues. My goal is to leave you feeling confident and at ease in how to care for you baby.
Partner Support: I am as much the partner’s doula as I am the birthing parent’s. I will provide companionship and nonjudgmental support as you get into your groove as a new parent, learn how to best support your partner and process the birthing experience yourself.
Sibling Transition: To ease the transition for older siblings, I give them extra attention and help them ease into their role as big brother or sister.
Professional Referrals: I will stay alert for cues and needs for outside specialists such as lactation consultants, pediatricians, physical or occupational therapists, chiropractors, postpartum support groups or healthcare providers who can screen for postpartum mood disorders.

My priority is to create nourishing meals with a mother’s recovering body in mind. If the rest of family would like to partake, I am happy to provide enough for them as well. If they prefer other types of food and if time allows, I can also help meal prep family meals as needed.

I will often make homemade broth in my home and bring to use in a meal; otherwise, I will be preparing and cooking all meals in your home kitchen.
